Batting R B 4s 6s S/R Virat Kohli(C) 0 1 0 0 0.00 lbw b Trent Boult0.1 Trent Boult to Virat Kohli, OUT! THAT IS PLUMB! 100th Indian T20 League wicket for Boult and this is the first time Boult gets him in this tournament. A golden duck for Kohli and that is the start Rajasthan would have wanted. This is a lovely nut. It starts around off and tails back in late. Kohli plants his front foot across and looks to flick but misses, getting hit on the pads. A loud shout and the finger is raised. Kohli does not review and rightly so. 0/1Faf du Plessis62 39 8 2 158.97 run out (Yashasvi Jaiswal)13.2 Sandeep Sharma to Faf du Plessis, OUT! RUN OUT! That is brilliant, just brilliant from Yashasvi Jaiswal! Something special was needed for the visitors to break this stand and Yashasvi Jaiswal has done it. This is full and on off, this is driven hard to cover. They take off for a run. Yashasvi Jaiswal picks the ball up, he has one stump to aim at and hits it. Faf is well short. Such efforts can lift the morale of a side. Can they now finish strongly? Faf, on the other hand, walks back a tad disappointed but he batted brilliantly. 139/3Shahbaz Ahmed2 4 0 0 50.00 c Yashasvi Jaiswal b Trent Boult2.1 Trent Boult to Shahbaz Ahmed, OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust! Boult struck in the first ball of his first and now in the first ball of his second. The move to send Shahbaz Ahmed up the order does not work. Slightly shorter and on middle, this one skids through. Shahbaz Ahmed looks to pull, this goes off the splice and straight to mid-wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal makes no mistake. This is an excellent start for Rajasthan. 12/2Glenn Maxwell77 44 6 4 175.00 c Jason Holder b Ravichandran Ashwin14.6 Ravichandran Ashwin to Glenn Maxwell, OUT! TAKEN! Straight to Holder and he won't be dropping that. Glenn Maxwell falls and this can be considered as a timely wicket. Especially with Faf being dismissed an over before. Now Bangalore will have two new batters out there heading into the final overs. Maxwell looks to play the reverse sweep again, this is pushed through outside leg. He looks to hit it over point but this goes flat and straight to Holder who makes no mistake. A brilliant knock from Maxwell but he would have loved to bat longer. 156/4Mahipal Lomror8 6 1 0 133.33 c Devdutt Padikkal b Yuzvendra Chahal16.3 Yuzvendra Chahal to Mahipal Lomror, OUT! TAKEN! Another one bites the dust! Chahal gets his first and the visitors are finishing strongly here! This is fired outside off. Chahal looks to go downtown but only manages to hit it high up in the air. Devdutt Padikkal runs in and takes a good catch. He has been really good in the field. 163/5Dinesh Karthik(Wk) 16 13 2 0 123.08 c Jos Buttler b Sandeep Sharma19.2 Sandeep Sharma to Dinesh Karthik, OUT! TAKEN! That is a big wicket with 4 balls to go. Could easily make a difference of fives runs to the final score. This is full and outside off, Dinesh Karthik moves across and looks to go over long on. Does not get the elevation as it is way too full. He holes out to the long on fielder. Buttler makes no mistake. 184/8Suyash Prabhudessai0 2 0 0 0.00 run out (Yashasvi Jaiswal)16.5 Yuzvendra Chahal to Suyash Prabhudessai, OUT! Suyash Prabhudessai is well short! Bangalore losing their way here! This is on middle, Suyash Prabhudessai looks to work it on the leg side but this goes off the leading edge, it lands short of cover. Suyash Prabhudessai sets off but is sent back from halfway down the wicket. Yashasvi Jaiswal picks the ball and fires it to Samson who whips the bails off. It is taken upstairs. Replays show that Suyash Prabhudessai is well short. 163/6Wanindu Hasaranga6 7 0 0 85.71 run out (Sanju Samson)18.6 19.1: Sandeep Sharma to Wanindu Hasaranga, OUT! RUN OUT! Wanindu Hasaranga has sacrificed his wicket. Dinesh Karthik wanted to get on strike! This is short and on middle, Wanindu Hasaranga bails out of the pull. Dinesh Karthik is off for a run. Wanindu Hasaranga takes off. The two almost collide. Samson throws the ball to the bowler who whips the bails off. It is wided so still 6 balls to go in the over. 180/7David Willey4 2 1 0 200.00 not outVyshak Vijay Kumar0 1 0 0 0.00 c Shimron Hetmyer b Sandeep Sharma19.3 Sandeep Sharma to Vyshak Vijay Kumar, OUT! TAKEN! Two in two! That made a cracking sound of the bat but it does not go the distance. Short and on middle, Vyshak Vijay Kumar pulls it towards deep mid-wicket. Shimron Hetmyer takes it easily. 184/9Mohammed Siraj1 1 0 0 100.00 not outExtras 13 (W 10, LB 3) Total runs 189 (9 wkts, 20 ov) Yet to batHarshal Patel (IP)Fall of wickets0/1 (V. TIMBER! That is a beauty, that is an absolute beauty! Just brilliant. The big fish, Jos Buttler is out of here. He gets this one to jag back in so nicely. It starts outside off and it comes back in wonderfully. Jos Buttler looks to drive but it sneaks past the inside edge and uproots the middle pole. Boult got Kohli in the first over and now Siraj gets Buttler. Perfect start for the hosts. 1/1Devdutt Padikkal52 34 7 1 152.94 c Virat Kohli b David Willey11.4 David Willey to Devdutt Padikkal, OUT! TAKEN! That is the wicket Bangalore wanted! The pressure of runs not flowing got to Devdutt Padikkal and he falls. David Willey gets the important breakthrough. This is shorter and on middle, Devdutt Padikkal pulls, it goes off the splice towards long on. Virat Kohli takes it. 99/2Sanju Samson(C) (Wk) 22 15 2 1 146.67 c Shahbaz Ahmed b Harshal Patel15.2 Harshal Patel to Sanju Samson, OUT! TAKEN! Is that the wicket which wins them the game? RUN OUT! That is brilliant from Suyash Prabhudessai! He has not been amongst the runs but this is brilliant and will lift his spirit. That could well be the game there as Shimron Hetmyer is the finisher for the visitors! Outside off, a yorker, this is hit towards cover. They take off. Suyash Prabhudessai had one stump to hit, not only that, he had the bowler in front of him. He throws, Willey looks to collect but it goes past him and hits the stumps. 155/5Dhruv Jurel34 16 2 2 212.50 not outRavichandran Ashwin12 6 2 0 200.00 c Suyash Prabhudessai b Harshal Patel19.4 Harshal Patel to Ravichandran Ashwin, OUT! | 7:50 pmThat is it from this game then! There is another game which has already started! You can catch all the action by switching tabs. That game is a clash between Chennai and Kolkata. Until next time, take care and goodbye! |
7:50 pmGlenn Maxwell has been awarded the PlAYER OF THE MATCH AWARD for his excellent knock with the bat!
7:47 pmEarlier in the day, Bangalore were two down for not a lot after being inserted but Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis added over 100. Both got to their half tons. When they were batting, over 220 looked possible but Rajasthan pulled things back well. They kept the hosts to under 190 but that proved to be a little too much in the end.
7:46 pmFor Bangalore, their bowlers bowled well for most parts of the game. Siraj was brilliant at the start and so was Willey. However, the combination of Vyshak Vijay Kumar and Glenn Maxwell leaked runs. They went for almost 50 in the combined 4 overs they bowled and that could have well cost them the game but Harshal and Wanindu Hasaranga were brilliant when they were introduced. Willey too did his job to perfection whenever given a chance. Siraj was a little wayward towards the end but Bangalore still managed to get over the line.
7:45 pmWhat a game of cricket that was! It kept swinging like a pendulum and in the end, it is the hosts who come out on top. Rajasthan though will be a little disappointed to not get over the line, especially after the partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal! The two, after the loss of Butter early on, batted brilliantly. They took their time and once they got their eye in, went after the bowlers. They added over 90 in no time and turned the tide in their team's favour. Once Devdutt Padikkal fell, it was a procession. Runs were hard to come by and they kept losing wickets whenever they looked to up the ante. Except for Jurel, the middle order did not click and hence, they fell just short.
